Aloha, all!
As I may have mentioned here or on Facebook, I'm traveling on the U. S. Mainland to visit some family and friends. So I'm not able to get my hands on the wonderful box of brand new Stampin' Up! products that I've ordered from the new 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Catalog. Nonetheless, I still have a few papers that I was able to order last month to tide me over until I can get back home and start playing with my new toys!
Both of the sheets of Designer Series Paper that I used for this project are from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. There are quite a few different color combinations in this stack, and I'll be showing off another color combo from this set on Wednesday.
You may recognize the Vivid Vases Stamp Set from the recent Celebrate the Everyday Mini Catalog. This is one of the products from that catalog that have made it into the new annual catalog. I'm so please with that as it's definitely a favorite! Most of the colors that I used to color in the stamp are new, though. I used a Blender Pen to color in the vases, going just slightly from dark to light, left to right. I also used a Blender Pen to color in two of the flowers with the new Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey Inks. There's a little bit of Strawberry Slush in that middle flower – just a touch of a different color.
If you were to look at the sheet of paper wth the wavy lines, you'd notice that it's not quite wide enough to use as a horizontal background layer for a card with landscape orientation. So I cut two pieces of the paper and attached them on the short edges and hid that seam behind the stamped layer. A fun solution!
The paper with the dots all over it reminds me of the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. You may remember that from this year's Sale-a-Bration promotion. And here it is back in the annual catalog as promised! So I had to use it on the background layer of Hello Honey Cardstock to complement the dotted paper. To tie things together, I used just a strip of the Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon – new with these new In Colors!
This is such a quick and easy layout! I've been working on my next eBook of card layouts, and have been focusing more on simple layouts. So you may be seeing more of projects focusing on this kind of a layout. I've enjoyed branching out a bit. But I think this will be a back to basics Summer. Good theme for Summer, don't you think!
