Greetings from Sunny Florida!
Stampin’ Up!’s New Catalog is here! And do I ever love it! Of course I’ve had access to some of the new products for the last month (a real perk for demonstrators!), and I’ve been working furiously to try to get some samples made to show you some of my favorites (hint: there are a lot of favorites!).
Sending Smiles Stamp Set
There is so much to love about this stamp set, as well as the dies that go with it. I’ve not used the dies in today’s project, but I’ll be sharing with some die-cuts before too long. There are lots of “best things” about this set and I wasn’t sure where to start. I finally decided that the first best thing is all the sentiments that you can use to follow the word, “Sending.” Here they go:
- A Note of Thanks
- Birthday Wishes (in my featured card)
- A Card to Say Hello
- Comfort & Strength
- Smiles Across the Miles
- All the Good Luck Your Way
- Love & Big Hugs
- Sunshine to Brighten Your Day.
All of them are in small caps just like the Birthday Wishes in the sample. If you’re reading this early the day of the catalog launch, I may not yet have the products shown in the slide show at the end of this article. But it will be there before too long.
Oooh, and That Card and Envelope!
One of the new Suites in the catalog is called, “Tea Boutique.” I’ll be sharing a project from that suite before too long. But what I’ve used for today’s card is the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes set. There are 20 cards and envelopes in the pack and each features one of the new 2022-2024 In Colors. This card features the Sweet Sorbet In Color. It felt so good to address that decorated envelope. While I do stamp many of the envelopes to go with my cards, they are not nearly as beautiful as these envelopes. And that pack is only $10! I’m amazed at the value – 50 cents for each card/envelope pair!
And It’s Fun to Stamp Inside With These Images
There are four flower images in the stamp set. Two of them are on the front of the card so I still had at least two different flowers to stamp on the inside. I even got to use a different leaf/stem combination (there are two of those in the stamp set). I can hardly wait to have time to get back to this set with some different ideas. Today I saw some samples that a friend posted on Facebook, and I’ll definitely be using those ideas in a future design of my own.
About that sentiment stamp. No, it’s not a current stamp. It was in a set that was a part of the first Sale-a-bration promotion this year. But that is the most perfect stamp I’ve ever used for birthday cards that are late. This is one stamp that I’ll keep using for a long time – or until Stampin’ Up! includes it in another stamp set in a future catalog.
I Used Two New In Colors and Some Carry Over Butterfly Embellishments
You may already have read about Stampin’ Up!’s new In Colors, so you’ll recognize them in this card. I stamped all of the flowers using Sweet Sorbet Ink, which is a lovely pinkish-red color. The stems and leaves are all Parakeet Party, a lime green that will get a lot of use in Robin’s Craft Room for cards just like these. The centers of each of the flowers is the oldie-but-goodie Daffodil Delight yellow (my favorite yellow in the current Stampin’ Up! palette).
The darling Brushed Brass Butterflies are a carryover from the 2022 January – June Mini Catalog. I’m so glad they’re continuing for another year because they are great accents for just about any kind of floral card. My favorite thing about them is that they’re flat. No bulging to break through envelopes!
