Aloha, all!
In one of my customer newsletter earlier this year, I published a video and provided a link to a pattern for making an Iris Fold Circle embellishment for a card. You can watch the video at the end of this post and get the template for the circle featured in the video by clicking here.
Now that it's getting towards fall, I thought I'd reprise the Circle Iris Piecing Design showing off a fall-themed Sunflower.
While it's lot of fun using different colors when you're undertaking an Iris Paper Piecing project, the Stampin' Up! Patterns Papers also make it fun to use the SAME color, but with different patterns from the paper stack. For this card, I used Chocolate Chip Patterns Papers and all four of the patterns in the paper stack. For the "petals" of the flower, I punched Daffodil Delight Card Stock with the larger scalloped circle in the Sizzix Scalloped Circle #2 die. I punched a 2-1/2" circle in the middle and texturized the scallop sircle with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The step and leaves are a stamp from the Sweetheart Stamp Set. I tied a little bow on using the Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
At the end of the video are some photos of a Pumpkin Design I made for Iris Paper Piecing. I'll be providing all of you with a bit more information about that project at the end of next week. It's a lot of fun and I hope you like it!
Now here's the video. You can see a wider version of this directly on YouTube.
Another design I've made is a pumpkin that you can make into a fall or a halloween project. I'll be posting that next week, squeezing it in between all the fabulous Create With Connie and Mary previews that will be going on before that program goes live (Woo-hoo!) week after next!
Robin, I love this card. I've done some iris folding and loved the look. I've always folded my paper though. I'm going to have to give the unfolded look a try. It would be easier and less thick.
Really love this look and going to try it. I looked back through your post and couldn't fine the pumpkin tutorial and was wondering if you had posted it.
TFS!
