Aloha, all!
Finally I finished the set of cards for my friend to give to her niece. This time I used an assortment of colors and made a layered card to show off one of Stampin' Up!'s newest Stamp Sets, Flower Shop. This set is made to go with one of Stampin' Up!'s newest punches. But for now I just used one of the set's stamped flowers.
All of the cards had Elegant Eggplant as their primary color. The first card that I made is in the lower left of the picture, and it used Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the greeting in Elegant Eggplant, and it was something of a nice monochrome card. But it didn't shout at me to make more – so I didn't! I did spice it up a bit with a Basic Rhinestone Jewel in the center of each flower.
For the next three cards, including the one standing up at the top, the one in the upper left corner and that in the lower right corner, I added in a bit of Old Olive. THAT worked a lot better for me. Just a bit more cheerful overall.
To add some interest to these cards, I used some of the new Candy Dots to accent the center of the flowers. I used Old Olive for the center of the Elegant Eggplant flowers (right and left) and an Elegant Eggplant Candy Dot in the center of the Old Olive flower (in between the two Eggplant flowers). For these cards, I used Old Olive Classic Ink to stamp the greeting.
When I was through with those four cards, I decided to go back to a monochrome theme, but this time I just used the Elegant Eggplant – one flower on the left and right using that color, and then a Perfect Plum flower in the middle. Again, with the monochrome theme, I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the center of each flower.
All of these cards – in fact, all of the cards in the 20-card set – use Naturals White Card Stock. I've been using a lot of that lately, and even have had to order another pack of it lest I run out! And all of the cards in this part of the all occasion card set have the sentiment, "Thinking of You" from the Express Yourself Hostess Stamp Set!
Oh, my, I did have fun making this set – and it's done! But I'm ready to get on to something else. Oooh, tomorrow is the SU Only Challenge Blog challenge! I'd better get hopping and make my card for that challenge. And it's a challenge for sure! I hope to see you and one of your projects in the challenge this week. I'm sure you'll have as much fun with it as those of us on the Design Team did!
