Hi, There, Stampers!
In my last blog article, I showed how I created two different looks with the same stamp set. My main point there was how different you could make a card look by using dies in one but not the other. But I switched out most of the colors. Today’s cards are different because I used dies in one but not the other. BUT the colors are still the same.
These Are Autumn Products?
Something else about this project. I made it using the Hello Harvest Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! 2022 July – December Mini Catalog. That’s a set with pumpkins and a fall leaf. If you look closely at the floral image in these cards, you’ll likely see that those flowers in the middle are sunflowers. I have to say that I’ve not ever seen a purple sunflower. But I think these flowers are still quite pretty!
Stamping on the Card Front
The only stamping that I did on this card is on the top layer of the card. There are no die-cuts and no punches involved. And I think that this is a perfectly lovely card. All I did was add a bit of ribbon and embellishment.
The main color in this card is Orchid Oasis, one of Stampin’ Up!’s 2022-2024 In Colors. I used the Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers and Orchid Oasis Woven Metallic Ribbon for the bow. Then for just a little extra touch of color, I added some of the Orchid Oasis dots from the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots embellishment pack.
I’ll be happy to send this to a friend!
Jazzing Up The Design
I’m sure you can see that this layout is pretty much the same as in the above card. The big change is that I stamped the images on some Basic White Cardstock and then die-cut them using the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. Where are the pumpkins? On other cards (you’ll see in the next few weeks), but not here.
Besides using the dies instead of stamping directly on the card front, the other big change is the size of the bouquet. It got larger because I stamped and die-cut a small, single flower that’s also in the stamp set and the die set. Then I adhered them to the card front on either side and the bottom of the bouquet.
Texture With a Die Set
I give the top layer of this card a bit of texture, I used the Stitched With Whimsy Die Set. Dies? No, they don’t cut anything out. There was a bit of confusion about that when Stampin’ Up! first released them in the Stampin’ Up! 2021 January – June Mini Catalog. We all finally learned that these dies actually did cut through cardstock, but in a dashed, decorated manner. I love the look!
Some Other Changes
While I used the same dots and ribbon for this card, I placed them a bit differently. I also added a length of the Gray Granite colored twine from the Craft Twine Essentials Pack when I tied the ribbon around the card front. Once I had the Stitched Whimsy on the card, there really was no need for additional embellishment at the top. So I added the dots to the banner with the sentiment.
