Aloha, all!
Are many of you of an age when you remember the play/movie, "The King and I"? "Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera" was one of my favorite lines from that movie! But that's not what I'm covering today. No, I'm featuring one of the retiring sets of Designer Series Papers called Etcetera!
Once again, this is a set of papers that I have not used a lot. For one thing, there are several sheets that simply don't make much sense to me for use in making greeting cards or many of the 3-D projects that I make. On the other hand, there are some gorgeous papers that work beautifully in vintage-style projects. While this is not a vintage-style card, you certainly can see how this could be one. Once I get the rest of this week's focus cards done, I might go back and work on CASEing some of this week's cards to make them vintage. Oooh, a challenge!
This is a really easy card to make: Make a standard portrait card base folded at the left. Cut two pieces of Designer Series Paper 4" wide by 2-5/8" high. Use a piece of plain old ordinary transparent tape to tape the two pieces together on the back. Wrap an 18" piece of ribbon around it (I used Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon), tie a bow in the front, and apply it to your card base using a good adhesive, such as Stampin' Up! SNAIL.
For the frame on which I stamped the sentiment – from the Stamp Set, Sassy Salutations, using Midnight Muse Class Ink – I hand-cut one of the frames printed on one of the other pieces of paper in the Etcetera Designer Series Paper set. That was fun – and I like the way it turned out!
Besides the papers in this project, There are three other Stampin' Up! products that are going to retire: The Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon and Midnight Muse Classic Ink. The bad news is that Midnight Muse Cardstock has already sold out. The good news is a big "Hooray" for Stampin' Up!'s keeping the Sassy Salutations Stamp Set. It's a favorite!
Here are all the products in today's card project. Retired or not, there is FREE SHIPPING ALL WEEK ON EVERYTHING STAMPIN' UP! Be sure to take advantage of this if there's anything at all on your wish list!
