Aloha, all!
No, it's not an Epic Day for me. One of the newest of Stampin' Up!'s papers is named Epic Day! We were first able to order it over a month ago as part of a new catalog preview package of the This and That scrapbooking product line. I'm still working on my This and That scrapbook, but that hasn't kept me from using the Epic Day Designer Series Paper on other projects.
I had lots of fun with the colors in this paper: Gumball Green, Daffodil Dellight, Pool Party, and Cajun Craze. My order from the new 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog has not yet arrived, so there's nothing in this card that's "brand new" from the catalog. My box from Stampin' Up! should arrive later today, and you can be sure that my next project is going to be full of new catalog products. I can hardly wait!
In designing this card, I used a sketch challenge from my online demonstrator's group, SUDSOL. It wasn't until I put the untexturized card stock layers of Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green that it dawned on me that I should complement the Designer Paper with the Chevron Embossing Folder. I decided to turn the Chevron 90 degrees, and I like the way it "turned" out! Then I was debating whether to use Daffodil Delight or Gumball Green ribbon. Neither one seemed to pop out, so I went looking for another color. The Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon ended up being perfect for this – and it ties into a bow so easily! Then, since I had used three of the colors in the Designer Paper, I figured out I might as well add another. So I picked Cajun Craze Card Stock to mat the greeting – which is from the set, Perfect Pairs.
And there's my card! Ready to send to a friend who recently did something really nice for me.
I'll get back into listing all the products I've used after I've got my craft room all organized with my new products. I am going to have so much fun putting everything away in my newly-weeded craft room. I'm definitely starting this catalog year out VERY well organized and I should be able to provide you with many more samples for ideas for making your own projects as this year starts.
Whatever you're doing in your own crafting room or area, I hope you're having as much fun with it as I am!
