Aloha, all!
I opened up another of my new sets of Designer Series Papers (DSP) this morning. You might wonder why I felt that I would have to push myself to open up these packs of gorgeous papers. My problem is that I have so many new products that I can easily become distracted by something else that I see in my Craft Room – and off I go on another project! So it's a matter of disciplining myself to focus – focus, focus, focus! But the discipline didn't necessarily mean that I couldn't try out some of my other new products, too!
This fun card is a case in point. Yes, I did get out two sheets of the new Designer Series Paper Set, Eastern Elegance. But I also decided to use some new stamps, new Sizzix Framelits, and a new accessory!
The Stamps are from a new set called Chalk Talk. This is a neat set to stamp on black card stock using Versamark and White Stampin' Emboss Powder. But today I chose to use it with color.
And the colors are also new! For this project I again used two colors with a neutral: The new In Colors Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana. Coastal Cabana is a color in the DSP set, and I wanted to use another In Color in the project. That's why Strawberry Slush is featured rather than the Crushed Curry that is another featured color in the DSP set.
I cut out the stamped circle with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and the Strawberry mat using the new Sizzix Framelit Set, Chalk Talk. I love that there are so many stamp set/framelit pairings in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog. I believe that the framelit shaped like the tag-shaped stamp that I used was meant to cut out the stamped layer. But the border of that stamped image was really easy to cut out, so I cut it out by hand and let the Strawberry Slush Card Stock serve as a mat.
The Ribbon is one of the new 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim ribbons in all of this year's In Colors and featured in the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog.
The only products in this card that are not new are that little Rhinestone Basic Jewel on the central motif, and the Whisper White Card Stock on which all the images were stamped and which served as the card base for this project.
I'm having a relaxing day at home today, and I think as soon as I finish here, I'm going to pull out some more new papers and some of my favorite accessories. This is a great way to relax, and I hope you have some time to do that yourself this weekend!
