Coordinating the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs!

January 17, 2015 by Robin

Aloha, all!

This year it has been so easy to coordinate products from the Stampin' Up! 2015 Occasions Catalog and the Stampin' Up! 2015 Sale-a-Bration Catalog.  As I'm sure you know, the Sale-a-Bration catalog features products that you cannot actually buy.  The products in this catalog are those that you can get FOR FREE every time you spend $50 on any other Stampin' Up! products – including those in the Occasions Catalog, which came online at the same time as the Sale-a-Bration catalog.

For today's project, I used a stamp that is featured in the Occasions Catalog and paper and ribbon featured in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.

The stamp with the tulips and the sentiment are in the one-stamp "set" called, Love is Kindness.  It's fairly easy to stamp the tulip image without the sentiment, but I really do like the sentiment for this card.

I colored the tulips and the leaves and stems using two set of the Stampin' Up! Blendabilities alcohol markers – Calypso Coral and Old Olive.  The Blendabilities provide a way to color in line-art stamps in many different ways.  For this stamped image, I used a softly-colored shadowing in each of the tulip blooms and in all of the leaves and stems.  This card was for a dear aunt who is ill, and I didn't want to get too complicated with the card that we were sending to her.

Once I colored in the tulips with the Calypso Coral, I picked out paper from the Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper set, Best Year Ever.  That design with the white speckles is a lovely accent for this stamped image.

Once I had my layers set, I tied the stamped layers together with a piece of the Calypso Coral Ribbon in the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.

I am so loving the coordination between these two catalogs – and I'm going to share another project with some different coordinating papers and colors in my next blog post.

Tomorrow I have a whole day to myself – no packing for our next move, no need to go to any stores to get supplies for our house renovation – no nothing, but just the opportunity to use some of my new Stampin' Up! products.  So I should be showing off lots of projects this coming week!

Here are the products I featured in this project.  I hope you'll take the time to click on any of the images to find out more about the products, and even order at least one or two from my Stampin' Up! store!

What a simple, but pretty card! I gotta get that stamp on my next order.
