Aloha, all!
As I was sipping my first cup of coffee this morning, I was also checking out one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! Challenge Blogs, and realized that I finally do have the time to start trying it out again! With my coffee cup in hand, I found this sketch for the weekly Create with Connie & Mary inspiration challenge.
I looked at my coffee cup, thought about my personal challenge to myself to start using stamp sets I’ve not touched in a while, and out came my Coffee Cafe Stamp Set…and the Coffee Cup Framelits Dies, and the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper set. Believe me when I tell you that this card just fell into place!
If you’re not familiar with the Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenges, you might wonder how I managed to replace a star with a coffee cup. But Mary reminded us in her post this time that the image in the sketches can end up being any image you want it to be. And I wanted it to be a coffee cup! OK, I didn’t add a sentiment across the front as the sketch “suggested.” But I think that the ribbon behind the cup – the Pear Pizzazz 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon – gave me the same design sense as a separate sentiment would have.
While I was making this card, I thought of a special friend who recently has taken on a job as a barista in one of her favorite coffee shops in Vancouver, Washington. So this card is going off to her and I know she’ll just love it!
On the Stampin’ Up! side of things here, as we’re coming up on the introduction of a new catalog to demonstrators this coming weekend, I wonder if these fun stamp and framelits sets will remain in the catalog. I do hope so. But even if they do, we’re down to the last two months when they’ll be available at 10% off if purchased as a bundle! After that, they might still be available singly (crossing my fingers). Oh, and that Designer Series Paper will most likely NOT be in the new catalog. I can’t remember Stampin’ Up! continuing a set of Designer Series Paper (except for special color stacks) from one year into the next. So now’s the time to stock up on this!!
Here are the products that I used in this project. As always, you can just click on one of the pictures and be whisked away to my personal Stampin’ Up! online store to learn more about them and even buy them as long as you’re right there! This is a fun set of products, for sure!
