Aloha, all!
I am so excited that today the Create with Connie and Mary team announced that I will be one of their Guest Designers for their Winter 2013 Edition of Create with Connie and Mary! So today's post is not only one of my occasional forays into my own archives, it's a sneak peek into the products that I'll be using in my Guest Designer project! I love all the Stampin' Up! 2013 Holiday Catalog papers and embellishments, and I'll be combining these with a great stamp set that was introduced by Stampin' Up! last year. I'm having so much fun with it, and it will be a great project for you to show off, too!
As you read this, I'm still in North Carolina's Outer Banks getting a good fill of grandchild time! And you can believe that the theme of Christmas presents has come up in discussions as we won't see them again until well into the New Year. So that's another great reason to make the theme of today's post focus on the winter holidays!
But where to find a good idea? Where, indeed! So once again I went back to my first year of blogging (and as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator) and found a card that I remember having a great time making. I made this card as my first card using products from the 2008 Holiday Mini Catalog. Those "Little Felt Flurry" snowflakes with some glitter added were so much fun!
For my 2013 card, I don't have the Little Felt Flurries. But I do have the nice big Sizzix Festive Flurry Framelits from the 2013 Holiday Catalog, as well as some Silver Glimmer Paper!
But I really liked that 2008 layout, so I stuck with it, Everything else is new since 2008, including the greeting from Greetings of the Season (not in the catalog, but still available from Stampin' Up! – item number 128030 or 128033 for a Wood Mount or Clear stamp set, respectively)
The paper is one of the "Specialty" foil-accented sheets from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper set. And doesn't that foil beautifully accent the Glimmer Paper Snowflakes! Speaking of accents, this is the first time I've used one of the prettiest embellishments in the Holiday Catalog – the Frosted Finishes Embellishment snowflake. Gorgeous on that small snowflake! The large Snowflake (cut with the two Framelits run through the Big Shot at the same time, with the inside becoming the smaller snowflake on this card.) demanded some added bling, too! So I added in one of the Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Another first – this was the first Large Rhinestone removed from my pack of them!
Not all of these products will be in my Create with Connie and Mary project – but lots of them will, and I can hardly wait to show them off! But you won't be able to see the project until you subscribe to the Create with Connie and Mary Winter Edition! This week is the best time to sign up because there is an Early Bird Discount, and there is Blog Candy going on. I love your card, the Winter Frost DSP is just devine and I have just about used all mine up and will need to order some more.
Robin…. Welcome to NC…. you are on the coast and I am in the mountains of NC! I love your card because it reminds me of the snows that I love each winter! I will definitely have to CASE this one.
Love your show flakes. I love them on cards but not so much in the sky!
Gorgeous card, I just love the colors and the snowflakes. Thanks you so much for sharing your wonderful talent.
