Aloha, all!
In my last post, I showed off some of the shapes from the new Jar of Love Stamp Set. But equally important, I also showed a couple of die-cut shapes that I made using the Everyday Jars Framelits set. Today, I'm going to feature just the framelits set – but it's still a CASE from the 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! Catalog.
You may even remember the paper that I cut out with one of the Jar Framelits as the one I used earlier in the week – the By the Shore Designer Series Paper set. The reason that I stumbled onto this design was that a good friend suffered a sudden loss of her husband last week as I was in the middle of my new catalog crafting. I went right for my Wetland Stamp Set as I find that the "Thinking of You" stamp from this set makes a nice statement for a sympathy card. I could not believe that I opened my stamp set, and that stamp was missing! It's still missing! So I started through my catalog looking for ideas for something else that I could use. As I came to page 133, which features the Wetlands Stamp Set, I saw the card that I'm CASEing today. But when all my searching was over, the only stamp that I had that would fit with this little jar was the sympathy stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes. So that was where I started.
I try to keep sympathy cards simple, so I stuck with Night of Navy and Calypso Coral, which is the featured color in this paper. I stamped the seagrass once with full Calypso Coral Ink, and then once again with the inked-up stamp stamped off once on scratch paper. I wanted a bit of color between the Whisper White stamped layer and the Night of Navy Cardstock layer. Rather than use the same paper, I used one of the sheets from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, cutting a notch at the top and bottom by hand.
There is one feature of this card that is made with a product from another company. I made the stitched edge of the Whisper White cardstock with a framelit by Lawn Fawn. I really have been crossing my fingers and toes that Stampin' Up! would offer something similar to this, but so far not. Maybe in the future?
Here are the main Stampin' Up! products that I used for this project. If you're interested in finding out more about any of them – or even buying any of them! – be sure to click on the photo below which will take you directly to my very own Stampin' Up! store!
