CASEing to Get My Own Creativity Back on Track!

June 20, 2014 by Robin

Aloha, all!

I've been working quite hard to continue to get my craft room organized. I thought a few weeks back that I was through. But there were a couple of things that were still bothering me and getting in the way of my creativity. As I write this, there's still some cleaning up to do. But the big things are all in place. I'll share with you what I've done once things are cleaned up.

Meanwhile, I was getting tired of not making so much as a card – though I did get a Project Life page done and several more organized that I'll work on at the beginning of the week. At the same time, I had promised one of my downline that I'd come to her place and bring a couple of projects using some new catalog products. As I was going through the new 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Catalog to try to get some ideas using products that I'd already purchased, I occurred to me that the easiest way to get a project done was to CASE something out of the catalog.  Have you noticed how many great design ideas are in the new catalog?!  It certainly seems like more this year.  And I finally found an idea for a project I could make and also use for one of my design tutorials in an upcoming Robin's Craft Room Newsletter.

ProjectInside

Page139Outside     I CASEd the project in the upper right corner of page 139 of the Stampin' Up! catalog.  While Stampin' Up! does give us a list of the products they use in the catalog projects, they don't provide tutorials or even measurements for the designs.  Once I finally figured this one out, I wrote a tutorial, both for this project as well as for a larger envelope in which to place this card.

I didn't use all of the products in CASEing this project.  But it will help give you the idea that, just because you don't have everything in a project you see doesn't mean that you can't make the project look as nice – or even nicer! – than the original.

If you'd like the tutorial, just sign up to be on my FREE Newsletter mailing list – up in the upper left corner of this page.  I'll be publishing the newsletter on July 1st to give you all the latest Stampin' Up! news and specials for July!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
