Back to Easter, Everybunny!

March 23, 2013 by Robin

Aloha, all!

This morning I finally finished all the Easter cards that will go to our grandchildren on the east coast so they'll go into the mail actually in time to get there before the holiday!

Last week I made one card in an oval shape using the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies from the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog.  Today's card is also made with the Oval Framelits, but oriented vertically instead of horizontally.

I wasn't sure that the card would stand up well this way, so my plan was to cut an edge on the bottom of the card.  But by sheer accident (I can't plan that well!)I got those two bottom scallops lined up perfectly, and the card stands up just fine!.

This is the third image from the stamp set, Everybunny, that I've shared with you in the last week, and I'll have made a card with all of them by the time Easter arrives.  Then, except for that little mushroom stamp, I'll put the set away until next Easter (crossing my fingers that it doesn't get retired.    Hmmm.  On the other hand, something new and cute would be fun, too!  Life will be good either way!)

Once again, I used the 2nd and 3rd largest Oval Framelits to make the frame around the stamped image.  I used Pretty in Pink Card Stock for this and then added some Pretty in Pink Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to make a pretty bow at the top.  To give the card some texture,I sponged Pretty in Pink ink around the edge of the card as well as around the edge of the Modern Label Punch that I used to punch the greeting (also from the Everybunny stamp set). I colored in the outline image with Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers.  It was a fun card to make!

Now off to do some Saturday chores – many stamping related, of course!  Have a great weekend – and don't forget to get those Easter Cards done early enough to get into the mail!

I love your Easter card its so lovely.  A little tip if you have awkward shaped cards which you want to stand up – trim about half an inch off the bottom of the back of card, this enables the card to stand up without spoiling the front. But hey you managed to get the scallops just in the right place, well done.
