Aloha, all!
A couple of days ago I shared a card that I sent as a birthday card to one of my brothers. Even though I did end up making some adjustments to the card, I still wanted to try this layout using another set of papers. When I opened my box of Designer Series Paper, I quickly came across the metallic sheets in the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper set. The card design took off from there, and there isn't even any texturizing this time!
The metallic color in this card is Copper, and there are lots of accents or embellishments available in the Stampin' Up! Catalogs that are also copper colored. I managed not yet to have them in my stash, so I put in a Stampin' Up! products order for myself to buy them. I really wanted to include copper accents in this card. Then two things conspired to make quash that idea: one, the Copper Foil Sheets from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog are out of stock and won't be available again until at least the end of this month. Second, I read a notice on Facebook that there was going to be an effort to try to get thousands of handmade greeting cards sent to the Stampin' Up! Co-founder, Shelli Gardner, on the occasion of her birthday. So I just went ahead and accented this card with Night of Navy Cardstock and Ink, and Very Vanilla Cardstock and Ribbon. Then I sent it off to Shelli!
Of course, if you look at the copper printed paper that is the main background in this card, it's clear that there is some texture. So I do believe that I was right in saying that the original birthday card needed texture. I'm definitely going to make one more card with this layout – a Christmas Card! And, for that card, I'll write a tutorial that will be included in my next monthly newsletter in early November. I hope you like it!
Now here are the products featured in today's card. I hope you'll click to get more information about the products – and even buy those that I used today!
