Aloha, all!
Here I am once again (twice in one week? what??) with a project that I CASEd from the Stampin' Up! catalog. While Sunday's CASEd project was based on some concepts, today's project is pretty much based entirely on the design on page 93 of the Stampin' Up! 2016-2017 Catalog. This project also fits very well into the biweekly Stampin' Up! Only Challenge theme which is currently "Delight in Nature." When you live in Hawaii, as I do, anything to do with the sea is definitely something that falls into that category!
I actually worked with one of my neighbors, who is going to sign up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator this month, to CASE this card. One thing that I try to do with my new Team Members is to help them get used to using some of the products in the current Stampin' Up! catalog. The annual 2016-2017 catalog is about as current as you can get! The good news for this new demonstrator is that she lives close by, so we were able to CASE this card together.
The stamp set that we used for this project is Seaside Shore, and it includes all the stamped images that you see here, including the starfish, seagrass, bubbles, the fish (of course!) and the sentiment. It was SOOO much fun for us to make this card.
The background paper is one of the sheets from the By The Shore Designer Series Paper set. We decided to cut this paper carefully so that we could get at least 4 cards out of this one sheet and have the dark-to-light shading as in this card (top to bottom).
There is not a set of framelits or punches for this set, so we both manually cut this cute little fish out. There are some nice curves in the image, so it was fun cutting her out. It was clear to see that the central stamped layer was part of the Lots of Labels Framelits set. We had a bit of a discussion about which one to use, and decided on the second to largest framelit in the set.
This was so much fun, and I hope you'll like the other projects that we completed and that I'm looking forward to showing off over the next couple of weeks! I also hope that you'll check out the SUO Challenge blog this time and find something in your collection of Stampin' Up! products that show off a Delight in Nature (retired products happily accepted in our challenge!).
