And Now for the Label Thinlet Flip Card!

August 11, 2013 by Robin

Aloha, all!

Yesterday I shared the first of my new Flip Card Thinlets dies – the Circle Flip Card.  After being so fussy with the first card, I decided to get a bit simpler with the second, which I made with the Labels Thinlet Flip Card die.

LabelsFlipCardReallySmall

In fact, this was not only simple, it was quick!  I used a piece of Real Red Cardstock for the base for the card, and decorated it with a piece of paper from the Designer Series Paper Set, Modern Medley.  All the papers in this set are Basic Black and Vanilla – very striking with the red from Stampin' Up! Bright Colors Collection.

Then the REALLY fun part!  The Thinlets come with lots of little pieces to help us decorate our brand new cards.  For this card, I used the Thinlet that is shaped like the Sizzix Labels Collection Framelits.  It's not the same size as any of the Framelit pieces, so there's one more shape to help out using that framelit set!  For the front of the card I cut the label thinlet in the same Designer Series Paper as I used on the card base.  Then for the back side of the label shape, I got creative in my own way:  I cut another of the Thinlet Label shapes and then cut the center of it out using the smallest of the Label Collection Framelits set!  Fun to see how Stampin' Up! has put all these products together to help us make projects that are, well, fun!

And then I used another one of the pieces included in the set:  the word "hi" was just the sentiment that I wanted for this card.  I cut the front image from Real Red Card Stock and the back image using the Designer Series Paper.

Oh, and I'm sure you noticed that I tied this project together with a piece of Stampin' Up! ribbon.  I've been ignoring my ribbon collection since I returned from the convention, and figured it's about time to get back to that.  For this card, I cut a small slit on the fold that forms the right side of the front of the card.  Then I slipped a piece of Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon through it and around the back of the card front and tied a bow.   Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

The weekend is almost over, but I have a LOT of time set aside for my paper crafting this week.  Be sure to stop by often to see what other new producs I have to share with you.  And "fun" will still be the operative word!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
