Mele Kalikimaka to all from lovely Hawaii!
Here I am on Christmas morning, after six months of designing and publishing Christmas Cards and their layouts both here and in my weekly "Countdown to Christmas" newsletter. After having mailed most of the cards that I made out to friends and family – and having delivered several around town – I find that it's now time for the next most important card-making part of the season: the Thank You note!
And wouldn't you know it, it's also time for the biweekly Stampin' Up! Only Challenge! Our current challenge is to make a card with a focus on Blue – any color blue, as long as it's Stampin' Up! blue!
For my card, I picked the newest blue in the Stampin' Up! Catalog, Midnight Muse. There are five Midnight Muse products in this card – the Midnight Muse Card Stock, a Midnight Muse print from the Designer Series Paper Set, Comfort Cafe, the fun-to-work-with Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon, the Midnight Muse Classic Ink, and that fun little button-like embellishment, the Midnight Muse Dahlia. I finished up this card with a stamp from the set, Perfectly Penned, stamped on Naturals White Card Stock and then die-cut with one of the Sizzix Framelits from the Apothecary Accents Set.
Now look at the strip of Midnight Muse Card Stock that I punched along the long sides with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Running down the middle of the strip is a product that will be in the soon-to-be-published Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog.- one of the die cut designs from the Delicate Details Lace Tape. The tape is self-adhesive and is a delight to work with! Not only that it has the same repeat pattern as the Scallop Edge Border Punch – so I can see myself using the two together frequently as the Spring goes on!
And now to make a few more Christmas Thank You notes and get them in the mail! It's a fun thing to do after all the Christmas gifts are opened and dinner is done! If you happen to make something that features one of Stampin' Up!'s shades of blue, be sure to enter it in the SUO Challenge! Oh, and just because I got stuck on making an all of one color blue card, that doesn't mean that you do. Just feature something blue and share it with us!
