Aloha, all!
Even though I've been busy a lot with my own designs, I've found that I really like CASEing (Copy and Share with Everyone) the Stampin' Up! Catalog. It gives me a quick opportunity learn how various stamp sets and other products included in projects work together.
Take the Live, Love, Grow Stamp Set featured in today's card and CASEd from a sample on page 146 of the catalog. So far I've tried it with 2-step stampin' as well as just stamping one image and coloring it in. So far, though you know I'm a 2-step stampin' lover, I really like just stamping the line images in this set and coloring them in. But I'll spend some more time with the set and see if I can't practice enough to make this a successful 2-step set for my use.
While I do like the way these stamps fit into the terrarium outline featured in the stamp set, I'm also looking forward to seeing what other stamp sets I can use with the terrarium theme. Do you have any ideas? I'm thinking that I'd like some plants in the background, for sure.
The colors that I used for this project are Mint Macaron, Garden Green, and Melon Mambo. I also chose a piece of Mint Macaron-colored paper from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper set (I'm running out of this pattern!). I picked Melon Mambo as my accent color as I really wanted to use a piece of ribbon to accent this piece, and the Melon Mambo 1/8" Stitched Ribbon was just the right size for this layout.
OK – here's my hint for the day. Do you see those sequins? They're from the Brights Sequin Assortment, which I rarely use. But, after I got this card all done, I managed to get a bit of black ink smudged on that Whisper White background. Rats! But one of those sequins covered that up beautifully. I just added a couple more to the design, and they really do look like a part of my design. So don't forget that there are plenty of Stampin' Up! embellishments lying around your work table – and they can be used for lots of things in a pinch!
Here are the products that I've featured in this blog. I hope you'll click on the photo of any that interest you and learn more about those products as you browse my personal Stampin' Up! Store!
