Aloha, all!
And here we are on a Tuesday morning with another challenge from the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge Design Team! We got a bit more specific than we usually do with our challenge this week by challenging everyone to make something with a favorite Sale-a-bration (SAB) product. Of course, with all the various and sundry products that Stampin' Up! allows us to get FOR FREE during Sale-a-bration, there are lots of products in the SAB catalog that aren't exactly "new" to Stampin' Up!
But I have found a favorite in the SAB-exclusive products this year, and that's the Stamp Set, Bloomin' Marvelous. There's so much that you can do with this set, from the clean-and-simple to the, well, "bloomin' marvelous" in vintage style!
My card tends toward the former in style. I needed a birthday card this week, and I've been dying to use the "Oh, Happy Day!" sentiment for a birthday card since I first saw the stamp! Oh, and I love cutting out flowers and leaves like those in this set. Of course, no need to cut out the butterfly as the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog features the Bitty Butterfly Punch that fits the butterfly in this set perfectly. Finally, there are three other SAB products in this card – the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, along with the matching button from the Ribbon and Button Pack. And, of course, the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Can you tell I've "earned" lots of SAB products!!!?
For this week's project, I added something a bit different and thought I'd share it with you, too. This is a birthday card for my aunt, and I decided I wanted to include a bit of a newsy letter with it. OK – so I wrote it on my computer and printed it off. But how plain! So I decided to add my Sale-a-bration flowers to make this a unique piece of stationery. And, of course, the envelope had to be decorated, too. So it will be a special card for sure!
I hope that you'll find something in your Stampin' Up! stash that will fit with our challenge over at the SUO Challenge Blog! Don't forget all those products that are featured in this year's "More Free Choices" section of the catalog, as well as those products that are new for Sale-A-Bration!
No matter what you made, I'm sure you'll have fun with it!
