Aloha, all!
As I hope you've noticed, my Robin's Craft Room Blog has undergone a style makover, thanks to fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Lyssa Zwolanek. I just love the fresh, new look, and I hope you do, too! It's hard for me to believe that I'd had my old look since 2008, when I first started my blog. So it was time for an update. There's still a bit of tweaking to go, but for now I can focus on my paper crafting and sharing it with you!
While I was going through some old blog files, I came across this project from 2013. I'd seen a sample on a display board at that year's Stampin' Up! Convention and made my own version of it when I got back home. It's hard to see in this small photo, but the highlight of this design was the paper piercing around all the squares, with fun intersections where the squares came together. But it was the layout that caught my eye this time. And, with the fab new collection of dies in the Layering Squares Framelits set, I just had to try it out again.
No paper piercing in this project, but I really do like the scallops that I can make with the Layering Squares Framelits! I think that this really adds to the overall look of the layout. But without the piercing, the layout needed something else to spice it up a bit.
The first thing I did was to check out how the new Enamel Shapes worked with the design, and for me it was definitely a "wow" moment. Those of you who've been following me for long know that generally I don't like to keep retired producs around. But I was unsure enough about how I'd like the new Enamel Shapes that were replacing a known favorite of mine, the Candy Dots. So I first tried the Candy Dots on this – photographed it and everything. Then I replaced them with the Enamel Shapes – the second largest of the circles – and I am permanently won over to the new product! Look at that shine – it even shows up in a photo!
OK, so now what do I do with the Candy Dots that I ordered when they were retiring? I happen to have one unopened set each of Brights, Regals, and Subtles. I will be more than happy to send a pack to someone who posts a comment on this blog post. I'll pick three comments at random and send you one of the Candy Dots packs. Comments on my blog posts stay open for 14 days, so you have two weeks to post! Oh, and if you don't get one of these packs, check back in August when I'll have some other Stampin' Up! items to give away (but they'll be current product).
Now here are links to products that I featured in this project! I hope you'll take the time to click on any one of them to learn more about that product and even purchase it on my personal Stampin' Up! Store!
Love this idea using the square framelits!! I have not used the new enamel shapes yet, but I too loved the candy dots. Don't forget you can color the candy dots with a sharpie to change the color. Will that work on the enamel shapes?
Love your new blog look! So happy looking!!
