Aloha, all!
It's time for another one of the Stampin' Up! Only Challenges over at the SUO Challenges blog – and this time it's to make a Clean and Simple (or CAS) Valentine Card. While I know you haven't seen many blog posts here recently, I actually have been making some cards using the new Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog products. And, to tell you the truth, I needed to make something different. So I went to the back of my stamp set shelves and pulled out two oldie-but-goodie sets.
You may recognize these stamps as the love birds from Easy Events and the Valentine greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes. But I did want something other than just two stamps on card stock – so back to the storage shelf to find the oldie-but-goodie Hearts Collection Framelits, and one of them worked perfectly with the love birds! THEN I found a product from the Stampin' Up! 2013 Spring Catalog to finish the central design off nicely – the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack had the perfect punch design to frame the heart! I colored the image from Easy Events using Pink Pirouette for the left bird and Pretty in Pink for its wing; Bashful Blue and Marina Mist for the blue bird; Lucky Limeade for the leaves; and Real Red for the heart, as well as for the greeting.
The greeting card itself is a 4-1/4" square made from an 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Pink Pirouette Card Stock, with a 4" mat of Whisper White Card Stock. The central element is a 2-3/8" square of Pink Pirouette matting a 2-1/4" square of Whisper White, mounted on the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also mounted the heart on the square with Stampin' Dimensionals.
And here I am tying a card all together with ribbon again! This time the ribbon is the Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
If you have an idea for a CAS Valentine Card, I hope you go over to the SUO Challenge Blog and enter it this week or next. The challenge is open until early on Saturday, February 9th.
I hope you have as much fun with your CAS Valentine as I have had with mine!
Such a sweet card, love that image and had forgotten all about it! Sometimes it is nice to go back to the past favorites! Great job, Robin!
Aw, such a cute image of the two birds, and great idea to put them inside the heart! Love the light colors too… so glad you are feeling good enough to make cards!
Very pretty CAS!
