Aloha, all!
For the last Stampin' Up! Only Challenge over at the SUO Challenge Blog, I was in the middle of my travels to the United States Mainland. As you read this challenge post, I'm finally back home after having been gone for three weeks. While I loved seeing all of my children and grandchildren, along with many other members of my family, it's SOOOO good to be back home with my wonderful husband!
Now that we're well into November, I find that next week is already Thanksgiving here in the United States (early this year!) and before long the only thing on which we'll be focusing are the December holidays. Hannukah is in just a few weeks, and then there will be Christmas and Kwanzaa. As they're all coming up WAY too fast, we decided that our theme this time around at SUO Challenges would be a Clean and Simple Holiday Card. Nothing complicated this time of the year as time is short!
The first stamp set that came to mind when I thought of a Clean and Simple (or "CAS") card was Christmas Blessings, as Christmas is the holiday we celebrate in my home. With its beautiful line art that requires nothing but ink to make an elegant card, the poinsettia stamp in this set is perfect. For this card, I colored the lines using Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Markers and stamped it on Whisper White Card Stock. I mounted that layer on a slightly larger piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White Card Stock and ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot with the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, and mounted that layer onto a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I adhered all the layers together, stamped a greeting from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set, and the card was done. No other embellishments, and I think that this card is as lovely as any card with Designer Paper, brads and ribbons!
It's been awhile since I've posted a sketch for a project. But I thought that, if I gave you the measurements, your project could be even simpler to make than mine was as I figured out what I wanted the measurements to be!
