Aloha, all!
I’m back!
I couldn’t decide whether to put a period or an exclamation point on that first sentence. After thinking about it for only a short while, I chose the exclamation point because it is a very positive exclamation by me. I’m looking ahead and am excited about what the future will bring as we come to the end of 2018 and anticipate the beginning of 2019. I don’t know what 2019 will bring. But I do know that 2018 brought my husband and me to the next stage of our lives, living without having to care for a house or garden, beginning finally to be able to focus on other areas of interest.
Tomorrow I’ll share with you my first card of my own new beginnings as I usher in 2019 and with it a new way of working in Robin’s Craft Room. For one thing, my craft room is no longer my own. We’re now living in a two-bedroom apartment, and one of those bedrooms has become “the” office. That’s as in, my husband and I both share ONE office.
Nonetheless, I have built a corner that is all craft room. There is an invisible diagonal line from one corner of the office to the other. One of those halves of the room is filled with stamp sets and papers and inks and embellishments and tools that will keep me busy as I begin to rebuild my crafting business. The other is briefcases and file boxes and all the paraphernalia that hubby needs to run his duplicate bridge club and keep track of the various groups in which he participates.
In between, at one end of the diagonal is a work table. I like to do my crafting work standing up and he needs to use his fancy duplicate bridge dealing machine with its accompanying computer standing up. That means (sigh!) that I have to keep my work space straightened up. No more working madly on a project and leaving everything out until I start the next project. You may remember my occasionally saying something like, “this embossing folder was already out on the desk, so I decided to use it for this project.” No longer. Everything has to be put away. Of course, I can still keep stuff piled up on my desk – after all, it’s MY desk and in MY half of the room. My back is to hubby so I can’t see him roll his eyes as he walks into the room. I won’t roll my eyes at his desk, either!
So – see you tomorrow with my first project of a new year, from a new craft room, with new Stampin’ Up! products!
It is so good to hear from you in your little corner of the office. I know good things are coming out of that room. I look forward to 2019 and all the goodies you are going to create. Happy New Year.
Yes, I think you need an exclamation point after New Beginnings!! Can’t wait to see what comes out of your corner of the room! Putting things away though… that’s tough! Wishing you an exciting year of new beginnings & creative fun!
