Aloha, all!
While I had made some notebook style gifts for people I meet at convention, I decided at the last minute to try to make some smaller gifts to give out when the largers ones are gone. While I don't actually have a list of people to whom I wish to give gifts at convention, I know I will see the opportunity to do that once people start gathering in various places.
I got the idea from one of my fellow demonstrators who pointed out the Paper Clip Bows that are featured on page 152 of the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog. With all the Designer Series Papers that I have in my collection already, I thought, "Why not make some paper clip bows!?" Then I had to think of something that would be quick to make to which I could attach the paper clips. So I made a 4-1/4" x 5" set of instructions – easy to run through my printer using Very Vanilla Card Stock! – and attached a paper clip to each one before storing it in one of Stampin' Up!'s Clear Medium Envelopes.
There are quite a few tutorials around for making the bows, and I adapted the parts that I liked from a few to make my own set of instructions. For one thing, I had to fit an outline of the instructions on a small card, which was a challenge even though I used both sides!
I used a variety of Designer Series Papers, and found that I most liked those that had a small print on them, though I'm sure you could use any DSP designs to make a nice bow.
Now, I know you can't read the instructions on those little cards from this photograph. Besides, I really like to include some step-by-step photos in my regular tutorials. So, with the outline in hand, I quickly made one of these bows, took photos – and created a Tutorial just for you!
So, while I'm off enjoying myself at the Stampin' Up! Annual Convention, you can enjoy yourself by using your scraps of Designer Series Papers to make something fun, quick and easy for yourself! I really do hope you have fun with this idea!
