Halloween’s Over – But Not These Products!

November 1, 2017 by Robin

Aloha, all!

I really do like the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper, as well as the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits Dies that are in the Stampin' Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog. And you just have to know that they're not just for Halloween! There are some beautiful designs with Fall Colors in that paper set, and pumpkins will take us all the way to the USA's Thanksgiving at the end of this month. So I'll be using both quite a bit when I have the time for non-Christmas projects over the next few weeks.

Today's project is a set of Bookmarks that I made last week for my (very large) book club. I really wanted to go to the Book Club Meeting this month as it was being hosted by a friend whose house is right on the ocean, and it was such a gorgeous day. But I'm kind of stuck in a wheelchair for at least the next couple of weeks, and getting up to her second story which is the main part of her house was just not in the cards for me.

For these bookmarks, I really did run an assembly line operation. I cut out as many pieces of paper and cardstock as I could at one time with the Sizzix Big Shot and the Thinlits Set.  The basic layers for the bookmarks were all rectangles, so they were easy to cut using my Stampin' Trimmer. Once all the pieces were ready to assemble, the gluing pretty much went on assembly line style, too. I glued everything except for the starred pumpkin image using Multipurpose Adhesive. For the pumpkins, the last pieces that I added to the bookmarks, I used the new Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now I wonder what else I'm going to do with the last bit of paper I have from the Spooky Night set. Oooh, I haven't yet cut out pumpkins from the pumpkin sheet. Did you know that the Thinlits will cut those out perfectly, too? I may have to make something to take to Thanksgiving Dinner!

I have been stamping and paper crafting for over 30 years, and have been an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for 14 years.

My favorite part of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is teaching others to enjoy crafting themselves. Not only do I conduct classes in person, I write tutorials for teaching anyone who has internet access. No matter if you're in my area in The Villages in Florida or anywhere else in the world, let me know if there's something you'd like to learn! Read More…
