The original tutorial for the Double Pocket Bag is on Split Coast Stampers.  But my own rendition of the bag, based on some embellishments originally designed by others, includes some steps that are different from the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers.

Start with the Split Coast Stampers tutorial, and make the following changes.

At Step 4, fold the paper in the opposite direction so that the second side of the double-sided Designer Series Paper shows at the top of the bag.

Instead of Steps 11, 12, and 13, do the following:

  • Using a card stock color that contrasts with the top band, punch 4 tabs with the Round Tab Punch.  Fold each in half.
  • Using the Horizontal Slot Punch, punch just at the point where tab begins to get bigger.  I lined up the punched tab like this:
  • I put the tab into the punch small end first.
  • Then I lined up the first wide part of the tab with the markers
on the side of the punch, and punched.

  • I took the punched tabs and placed them where I wanted them at the top of the bag, and marked a line where I wanted the slot punched at the top of the bag.  Then I punched the slots in the top of the bag.

  • Using sticky strip, I adhered the outside of each tab to the top of the bag.  Then I put the ribbon through the slots, and adhered the edge of the ribbon above the slot on the inside of the bag, again using sticky strip.  Finally I adhered the inside of the tab to the inside of the bag.  Do this for both the front and the back of the bag so you will have two handles.
  • Then decorate the bag as you wish!  As soon as I get back from Convention, I will post more information about these wonderful new papers and stamps from Stampin’ Up!
