Did you know that there are several stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Catalog that are just for party hosts or those who spend $150 or more in a single Stampin' Up! order? What's really special about these sets is that they're sold at a pretty good discount. But you can only use the $15 or more that you earn for hosting a party or spending that $150.
There's another way to get your hands on these sets and that's to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and buy them as part of a catalog pre-order. But we demos have to pay full price! I still manage to pre-order a set or two each year because I just really like the sets. And there's always the chance that you might think about hosting a party – even an online party – to get one of these sets for your self! Let me know if you're interested.
But I digress. Today and later in the week, I'm going to share two projects that I've made with the two hostess sets that I've acquired this year.
This first is my favorite! It's the Gift of Love Stamp Set, and features this flower which is stamped in three steps. One of my original reasons for loving Stampin' Up! products was their collection of 2-step stampin' sets, and here I am with a 3-step stampin' set!
I first stamped the outline using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I stamped the solid stamp to fill in the flower, using Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' Pad. Finally I stamped the solid fill for the leaves using Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' Pad. There are sentiments in this stamps set, but I really wanted a simple stamp for this card. So I chose a stamp from the Watercolor Wishes Stamp Set, which is part of the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit. I stamped this using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink also.
I trimmed the stamped layer and matted it with a piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock. For the base layers, I used a piece of paper from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper set, also matted with a piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock. I adhered the stamped layers to the base layers using Stampin' Dimensionals then mounted it all onto a card base of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.
For the finishing touch, I added a bow that I made using Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine. This card was so easy and went together so fast that I decided to make a dozen cards! I needed to send notes to everyone I visited while I was on the mainland on my marathon trip back in June, and this card worked wonderfully for that!
Here are the products featured in today's post – I hope you'll click on the photos of any that interest you to find out more information about them in my very own Stampin' Up! Store!
