I Do Keep Some Retired Stampin’ Up! Sets!

Aloha, all!

I know that many of you pay attention when I say I'm pretty close to being right on target when it comes to giving up Stamp Sets and other products that Stampin' Up! has retired. After all, how am I going to help you decide on making a project I show off if you can't buy the products I'm showing off?

But there are some sets – and in some cases, just individual stamps, that I just can't give up. The set with the palm tree stamp that I'm using in today's project is one of those.

The stamp set, Totally Trees, is one that was in the Stampin' Up! 2016 Holiday Catalog. There are lots of things you can do with the many stamps in this set. But this palm tree works so well when I want to make a card that I can use for a quick note to someone. It's just the right size to stamp in squares, such as these made with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. The stamp works well in circles and ovals, as well as in the squares.

Believe it or not, the rest of the card uses all current products. One of them is the label I used to cut a shape for the sentiment from the Watercolor Wishes Stamp Set. that's part of the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit. Yes, you have to buy the whole kit to get the stamp set – but it's well worth it, as the kit is pretty cool! Anyway, back to the label. It's from the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits set. No, it does not have to be used just with Project Life projects!

I added a hand-cut piece of Garden Green cardstock to run behing the label shape, and then ran a 5" length of the Mint Macaron 3/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon behind that. All of the various pieces I've just mentioned are adhered to a layer of Crumb Cake Cardstock embossed using the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. That whole layer is adhered to a card base also made with the Crumb Cake cardstock. I added the final touch of two Garden Green Candy Dots from the Regals Candy Dots Collection.

Now that this card is off in the mail, I'll be back to some more current products for tomorrow's project – a birthday gift for one of my friends!

     Meanwhile, Happy Stamping!
