Aloha, all!
Here I am once again with a project for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge, a biweekly challenge which usually is to feature a theme in a greeting card or other project. This time, as November begins, our challenge is "Fall Fun." And fall is certainly fun wherever you are!
As you might be able to tell, I had to make this card quickly! I don't even want to go into what I've been doing over the last week – all fun, but all crazy busy! So here I was as the challenge was about to go live wondering what I was going to do for this challenge. But with the fabulous Stampin' Up! papers and coordinating stamps and ribbons and cardstock available to me, it was such fun making this quick card!
The printed paper on the card front is one of the sheets from the fall Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper set, Into the Woods. Look at all those great colors which just shout "Fall" with all the leaves tumbling down off the trees (and a few acorns from the oaks, of course). I decided to pick out the Tangelo Twist and Rich Razzleberry colors for accents. The ribbon – also called "Into the Woods" – in Rich Razzleberry was easy. The Tangelo Twist designer series paper was less easy, but then came quickly to the forefront as I started "leafing" through my Holiday Catalog papers. There was the Halloween themed paper set, Happy Haunting, and there was a great Tangelo Twist design that didn't exactly scream "Halloween." So why not use it?
After I layered these two papers onto some Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, it was a quick and easy embellishments to tie a piece of the Into the Woods 3/8" Cotton Ribbon around the layers and tie a pretty bow. When I went looking for a greeting or sentiment to put on the front, I found the perfect saying in the Lighthearted Leaves Stamp Set. If all those leaves on this paper aren't "fluttering," then I'm not sure what else would have been as perfect a sentiment as the one noting the fluttering leaves.
I stamped the quote onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink, and then die cut it with one of the Tags and Labels Framelits. Then I used a slightly larger framelit to die cut some Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, adhered these two together, and adhered the to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a bit of an accent, and to make believe that the tag was tied to the ribbon, I added a bit of Calypso Coral Thick Bakers Twine. It's far enough away from those Tangelo Twist leaves that they seem to me to go together just fine.
I adhered the entire card front onto a card base made with the Whisper White Thick Cardstock, which is heavy enough to handle all that weight.
What fun this card was to make – and so quick! I hope you'll take the opportunity to enter the SUO Challenge this time with your own Fall Fun Card!
