Where Have I Been!!??

You might well have been asking this week, "Where the heck is she?" Well (very deep thought), I had a revelation the day my box of new Stampin’ Up! catalog "stuff" arrived on my doorstep this week. The revelation was that, even though I had packed away all my "retired" stamps and designer papers, I still had no idea how I was going to get all the wonderful new products into the Craft Room.
It wasn’t just that it was cluttered (cluttered is my life). It was that it was just not organized in such a way that I could keep it from getting more and more cluttered each time I started a new project.
The first thing that I did was to look online at some other craft rooms and how they were organized. There’s one big different between many of those and Robin’s Craft Room. My room has sliding glass doors that fill up a good portion of one wall, a window right in the middle of another, and a double width closet and the door into the room on the thir wall. The one wall that had nothing to block shelves already has shelving, and that holds my basic card stock colors. So for the most part, I’m stuck with having to put things in drawers under tables, and on shelves and drawers in the closet. But things that are in the closet and in the drawers after the first two aren’t really convenient for quickly grabbing things. So, of course, I keep my most used items, such as adhesives and scissors very near the top or even ON the top of the table. Blah, blah, blah.
And the issues go on from there as nauseum. So basically what I did at the beginning of the week was to take everything out of or off of everywhere. I spent a lot of time just looking at my two work tables (one standing height and one sitting height) and wondering what I had done! But at that point there was no turning back.
Now everything’s put back together, there are two HUGE bags of trash waiting to be taken to the dump, and I’m back in business!!
