Clear Mount Rubber Stamps – A Video Tutorial
Aloha, all!
Here’s that Video Tutorial I promised yesterday. I hope that you can tell that I now wish that EVERY stamp set was a clear mount rubber stamp. I understand that it’s fairly easy to remount my current stash of wood mounted stamps to use on the acrylic blocks. But I just looked at said stash, and I think it would be summer before I’d ever get back to making cards and scrapbook pages! So, for now, the wood mounts will stay as they are. But I’m buying clear mount rubber from now on!
If you have any questions or comments about the video, please let me know!
About Those Clear Mount Rubber Stamps!
Aloha, all!
I spent this afternoon creating a video to show a bit about Stampin’ Up!’s newest product, Clear Mount Rubber Stamps. This is the finished copy of one of the cards that I showed off in that video. One of the (many!) best things about Clear Mount Rubber Stamps is that you can place two or more stamps on one block at once to stamp a complete image on a card.
Today’s card is a Love Note (3" x 3" size) Thank You card, using two images from the stamp set Happy Moments from the 2010 Sale-A-Bration catalog. Yes, I got this stamp FOR FREE myself because I just had to order some more of the Sending Love Designer Paper with GLITTER! And I started running out of the coordinating Real Red and Pretty in Pink card stock. And then I needed more SNAIL adhesive and then – well, I’ve managed to collect two new stamp sets and some designer papers already this Sale-A-Bration!
Tomorrow I’ll include a link to the video about how to set up your Clear Mount Rubber Stamps. Believe me, you’ll be hooked on them once you use them!
Another Easy Valentine
Aloha, all!
We did, indeed, get all the valentine cards I’d planned for today’s class done – in record time! What makes the stamping part so easy is those clear blocks and the labels on the clear mounted stamps that let you know exactly where you’re stamping. There was not one stamp that had to be redone because something was crooked or off center. I am so hooked on these!
The card I’m posting this evening is the second of the two cards for today’s class. It uses the same wonderfully glittery paper, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. We used the same stamp from the Well Scripted stamp set, stamping the greeting over a heart from the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set. I just love the way the curve coming from the "v" wraps around the top left curve of the heart. I got this idea from a sister demonstrator but (unfortunately) I can’t remember who it was. If anyone can tell me, I’ll be sure to include here name here. It’s a beautiful use of the two stamps. Another CASEd idea is to put the two pieces of punched contrasting colors strips on the right and left side of the central Designer Series Paper section. Maybe my brain will clear later tonight and I’ll remember who gave me the ideas that I ended up putting together for this card.
Colors are Very Vanilla, Real Red and Pretty in Pink. Next week’s Valentine’s colors are going to be in the purple family. But I’ve still got a few more ideas for the red and pink and will be showing them off between now and then.
Oh–and all of this is fron the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog! Just let me know if you need your very own copy!!
New Valentine Designs with New Products!
Aloha, all!
I see that, overnight and with much surprise, some errant blog posts have magically appeared! If you’re seeing double, it’s not your fault! Computer programs have a way of providing us all with some excitement in our lives, whether we like it or not. I’ll be trying to clean up a bit when I have some free time in the next few days.
But now for the real reason I’m putting fingers to keyboard this evening! I’ve just finished a couple of Valentine cards made using brand new products in Stampin’ Up!’s newest catalog, the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog. And I can hardly wait for my next shipment of these products to appear on my doorstep – which will be tomorrow! Hooray!
My absolute favorite of all the new stuff? Oh, man, I’m having trouble with that. Well, let’s say that, for today, my absolute favorite is the fabulous new Designer Series Specialty Paper, Sending Love. IT’S GOT GLITTER! Oh, my, to have this sparkling all over the place! Each sheet of paper in this set has a side with glitter and a side without. Guess which side is my favorite?
The cards that I’m showing off today and tomorrow are both for a "Stamp a Stack" class. Cards for this class have to be easy to make because we’re going to make 5 of each in a short period of time. So no complicated folds or layering or embellishment. But they have to be Stampin’ Up! classy nonetheless!
Today’s card not only uses the new papers from the Occasions Mini, but it also uses one of the newest stamp sets, Well Scripted and a brand new Stampin’ Up! Embosslits Die, Heart of Hearts. I keep rubbing my finger over the wonderful texture of the embossed heart. The colors in this card are Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. Gotta have Chocolate when you have Valentine’s Day!
I’m going to include the measurements for all the pieces in this card in my next Newsletter, which is the first in a series of 4 newsletters that will feature Valentine Cards and instructions for making them. There will be two cards featured in each newsletter. Just click on "Sign Up for my Free E-Mail Newsletter!" at the top of the column to the right and you’ll get those instructions, too!
More new products to show off tomorrow!
A Brand New Year – And Brand New Catalogs!
Aloha, all!
There are now TWO BRAND NEW CATALOGS available with brand new Stampin’ Up! products. I have placed a link to these at the top of the column just to the right of this post. They are:
-
The 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog. I have already started working with some of the products in this catalog (and have shown some of my work off here already) and can hardly wait to see what everyone is doing with the great new style of stamp and punch we have available to us! Click the picture to see a full copy of the 2010 Occasions Mini!
-
The 2010 Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Yes, it’s that time of the year again when, if you purchase $50 worth of Stampin’ Up! products you can choose one of dozens of Stampin’ Up! products. New this year is that you are not limited to what’s in the catalog for your freebie. There is a page that lists stamp sets from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog which you can choose to get for free! How cool is that? Click the picture to see a full copy of the 2010 Sale-A-Bration Catalog! The list of items from the 2009/2010 Idea Book and Catalog from which you can choose is on page11.
Besides the new catalog, there is a new insert for the Definitely Decorative line of products, including Decor Elements and Stampin’ Up!’s line of stencils. The big hit here so far is that some of them are made to have chalk used on them to write – well – whatever!
I have already sent my catalogs out to many of you. If you’d like a "real" catalog or the Definitely Decorative insert, please call me or add a comment here and let me know!
Later this week, I’ll share some of my projects from the new catalogs with you.
Our Furry Family Members
Aloha, all!
As I said last week, we have a new garden cat, whose name is Honu, who has made our indoor cat, Cholla (from New Mexico, thus the name of the cactus that is ubiquitous where we lived) just a teensy bit jealous. In fact, we have to keep some windows closed as the cats have taken to trying to claw each other through the screens! Not so bad this time of the year when it’s not really very hot at all. Hopefully they’ll get over it before spring arrives and starts to warm things up a bit!
I managed to catch both cats in something of a Christmas pose, so just had to make a quick scrapbook page with Stampin’ Up!’s My Digital Studio.
This digital papercrafting program is just so neat – and things ship quickly, too! I’m going to start on some Valentine’s cards for my Stampin’ Up! friends before long. If you’d like to be on the list to receive one of the cards, just add a comment below and then I’ll e-mail you to get your address! I’ll need the information by January 23rd so I can get my order in and still have time to mail them before Valentine’s Day. I’ll certainly remind everyone about this a few times between now and then.
Happy New Year!
Aloha and Hau’oli Makahiki Hou – Happy New Year!
Finally we are rid of 2009 and are ready for a new start in a brand new year! I hope we’re not at this point next year wondering what happened to 2010. I, for one, intend to be as positive about life and living as is humanly possible. I tend to be the positive type, anyway. But I’m going to work even more on it this coming year.
As always, I have greeting cards expressing my wishes to you, made with Stampin’ Up! products. I’ll be sending a card like this – or something stamped with It’s a Brand New Year – in the next week or so to my friends and family. It’s my first positive note that this will, indeed, be a good year creatively for me and they’ll be the recipient of my creativity!
Have a wonderful year!
