More New “Stuff” in the Craft Room
Aloha, all!
I am so glad that I took yesterday as a day to PLAY rather than work with my Stampin’ Up! toys. I had no commitments to meet, so I could just fuss around with my stamps and papers and accessories and figure out some designs. I feel so relaxed and I’m ready to spend some time this weekend doing some more in the way of challenging my creativity.
While I had the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper and the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware still out on the craft table, I decided I’d pull out another new stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! 2009 Spring/Summer Catalog and use the same materials. The stamp set I used this time was a new one called Beautiful Borders. There are two border stamps (wide enough to overlap the edges of a 5-1/2" wide card) and FOUR word stamps. What a versatile set!! I’ll try to make some more this weekend just to show off that versatility.
Besides the DSP and the Hodgepodge Hardware, this set uses the new Stampin’ Up! Eyelet Border punch. I just love how the color behind the top piece of paper/card stock shows right through the eyelet patterns. I finished this card off with the 1" Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon. Simple design, but fun to make!
I’ll be making this card as part of my stamp club in February. If you’d like to join us for the club, just let me know and I’ll make a kit for you, too! We’ll be making a Valentine Card using the Love You Much bundle (just 2 more days to order that at a discount!!!) and a note pad cover using the new Tea Party Designer Series Paper. For those who are not a part of the Stamp Club, the kits are just $10–and they’re FREE is you order $50 worth of Stampin’ Up! products during the club meeting.
Oooooh!!! And it will be held during Sale-A-Bration 2009!! You get more FREE STUFF during SAB! Call (808.854.6145) or e-mail me if you’d like to join us! Check out my calendar for the dates.
Back in the Craft Room–With New Stuff!
Aloha, all!
Finally I have a chance to breathe–and get back into my craft room! I have all this wonderful new "stuff" from Stampin’ Up!’s new 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog, and I finally have a chance to start using it!
This card uses one of the Level 2 Hostess Sets, Echoes of Kindness. I love the flowers in this set, and I’m sure I’ll be using it for lots of projects this Spring. I can already envision the flowers in lavenders for Easter. Hmmm. Nope, got to get Valentine’s Day out of the way first! The Designer Series Paper behind the main medallion is Raspberry Tart. I have to tell you that, when it first arrived in the Craft Room, I didn’t really like the colors. I’ve been using papers with more defined pictures in them, and with different sets of colors that seemed to be more in harmony that this set. BUT!! It has grown on me, and I’ll be showing it off a bit more over the next couple of weeks.
The overall card design is one that I made several years ago as part of a stamp club in New Mexico. Fellow demonstrator, Maria Matonti, provided the project for us. This time, along with the Raspberry Tart paper, I used Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss card stock (coordinating colors for the DSP), and stamped on Confetti Cream Card Stock. I haven’t used Confetti Cream or Confetti White in awhile, but I’m leaning more towards them with some of the projects I have in mind for the Spring. Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware and Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon finish this delicious card off!
Do you have your new catalog yet? If not, I’ll be glad to send you one–the only charge will be for the postage. If you’re in East Hawaii, you can stop by to pick one up or I can deliver it to you! Just call (808.854.6145) or e-mail me and I’ll get right on it!

Love You Much Bundle Discount Still Available!
Aloha, all!
OK–I’ve shown you quite a few projects using the Love You Much Bundle. I love the paper, punch, and stamp set SO MUCH that I’ll be certain to have more samples for you as the next few weeks progress.
This card uses the Carousel Notes that are one of the featured sets of note cards sold by Stampin’ Up! The Carousel Notes were introduced almost a year ago in the 2008 Occasions Mini Catalog, and have been popular ever since. There is so much you can do with these round scalloped note cards with their wonderful square brown envelopes. This sample doesn’t do anything "fancy" with the note cards, but I still love its simplicity!
Let me know if you’d like a sample of one of these Carousel Notes! I’ll be happy to send you one so you can see how versatile they are! Just call (808.854.6145) or e-mail me, and I’ll put one in the mail to you right away!
Back to Some Card Crafting!
Aloha, all!
My stamp club met this week, and we made quite a few cards using materials from the Love You Much Bundle special (it’s almost over–don’t delay if you want to order this bundle at 20% off–see the link to the right of this post!)
This card is one that features the Love You Much bundle, but is NOT a Valentine Card! One concern I’ve heard is that this is a set that’s only useful one time of the year (Valentine’s Day). But it’s great for many events during any year! I envision this card being a greeting for a Wedding Anniversary. It could even be used for a Wedding Shower or a Wedding Gift Card! The card uses the paper (Candy Lane), punch (Heart to Heart) and Stamp Set (Love You Much) that are included in the bundle.
If you’d like to order this bundle, you can order it online any time of the day or night, any day of the week (I believe that’s called 24/7?). If you have any problems with your order from my website, you can always call (808.854.6145) or e-mail me, and I’ll be happy to trouble shoot any ordering problems.
Don’t wait–the 20% discount ends Sunday!
Ornaments Scrapbook–the Last Page
Aloha, all!
I think that the 2008 Christmas Season is finally over for Hale Messenheimer! I finished the last of the 4 pages of the scrapbook in which we’ll keep memories of the ornaments made over the years by our dear friend, Janet. I can’t believe that I didn’t capture ALL of the ornaments that she has made us. Perhaps next year I may find the I have to make another 2-page spread from ornaments that were hidden from the 2008 Camera!
Beginning in March, I am going to host twice-monthly scrapbooking sessions here in Pahoa, on the Big Island of Hawaii. I hope that, if you’re in East Hawaii, you might join me to capture some of your photo memories into some fun scrapbook pages. I felt very serious about this particular set of pages, so the layout is a bit "serious." But I have some ideas for FUN pages, that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
Watch for the class listings in the Hawaii Tribune Herald Calendar pages next month!
Ornaments Scrapbook Page 3
Aloha, all!
I changed the color scheme a bit, but these are still ornaments made by our dear friend, Janet, over the last 20 years. The tree is the second of two trees we have each year in our Hawaii home. There are two lovely picture windows on either side of our front door, and we have four Norfolk Island Pines growing in our garden. So, each year, we cut the tops from two of the trees.
Janet’s ornaments–and the other special ornaments on our trees–will have a special place to hang every year!
To these pages I added a couple of the small sizzlet snowflakes that you can made with the Stampin’ Up! Sizzix Big Shot!
Don’t forget to ask me about the materials I used to make these pages. You, too, can make some wonderful scrapbook pages (perhaps with a bit more creativity than I have shown in these?) with Stampin’ Up! products.
More Ornaments Scrapbook
Aloha, all!
I completed the scrapbook that features ornaments made by our dear friend, Janet. It’s only four pages, but it will be a wonderful memory for us of the hand-stitched ornaments that we have received as Christmas gifts for the last 20 years.
Thanks, Janet!
Page 3 will follow shortly!
Love You Much Love Note
Aloha, all!
It’s a beautiful morning in East Hawaii, and I’m on my way out for a nice long Monday Morning Walk! But first, I thought I’d share with you one of the projects that I’m going to feature in my Stamp Club this week. It uses the Love You Much Bundle (115405) being offered right now by Stampin’ Up! at a great discount! Click on the link at the left for all the details!
(And for any of you who have heard anything about back orders, I can assure you that I just received a box from Stampin’ Up! with three full sets of the bundle. So no problem today!)
I’ve already posted the basic instructions for the Diaper Fold Pouch, which is featured in this project. I’ve also just posted the supply list and instructions for this particular project, to go along with the basic instructions.
Valentine’s Day is almost a month away! So it’s the perfect time to get started with this great deal from Stampin’ Up! You can order online any time 24/7, or call (808.854.6145) or e-mail me if you’d like me to place the order for you!
And don’t forget all those wonderful retiring accessories! Quite a few of them are already sold out! So don’t delay if you’re thinking about one or more of them!
Scrapbooking Special Ornaments
Aloha, all!
I’ve been pretty busy getting straightened up after the holiday AND checking out all the news from the Stampin’ Up! Leadership conference which is concluding today. I can hardly wait to share some of the wonderful new products to be featured in the 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog!
But I digress. Today I finished the first page of 4 pages that I will make to create a memory book of ornaments made over the years by my dear friend, Janet. For the last 20 years or so, each Christmas Janet has hand-stitched a most wonderful ornament for our Christmas Tree. And she made DOZENS of these ornaments for her friends and family. For several years, Janet’s wonderful husband, Gary, has encouraged her to move on from this time-consuming activity to other projects. This year, Gary passed away suddenly, and Janet has now acceded to his request. So there will be no more new ornaments on our tree. In fact, right now, we have enough ornaments, including those that I made and those made by other friends, that we cannot fit them all on our trees (yes, we have two trees–Norfolk Island Pines cut from our garden each year). ALL of the Janet ornaments ALWAYS make it to the trees. .jpg)
Before we took down this year’s trees, I took photographs of Janet’s ornaments, and decided to create a small 4-page scrapbook with the photos.
This photograph shows one of our trees and four of the Janet ornaments that were on it.
As I complete the remaining pages over the next week or so, I’ll share them with you, too!
Thanks, Janet, for all the wonderful memories you create each year as we decorate and enjoy our Christmas trees!
