I have been SOOOO nervous about using my small collection of Decor Elements vinyl transfers. But today, as I was decluttering the craft room, I decided now was the time to get them out. My favorite item from Phase I was the "Create" definition. If that doesn’t belong in a crafter’s room, I don’t know where it belongs!! Now Stampin’ Up! is about to release Phase II, which was previewed at the Stampin’ Up! convention. I couldn’t resist using some of the colorful Ginormous Flowers to accent the definition.
You will simply not believe how EASY this was! In the Ginormous Flowers package that I purchased, there are many flowers and accents in four colors: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip. In this application, I first applied the celery and pink flowers, then applied the pink center to the celery flower and the saffron center to the pink flower. Then I applied the "create" definition, and finally the chocolate flower, then the celery flower on top of it, then the pink center. I rounded off the design with a couple of celery leaves and it was done! Less than an hour for the entire project overall (including trying to figure out which flowers I wanted to use).
I can’t wait to be able to order more from the new Phase II catalog and hope you’re as excited about this product as I am. I have plenty of Decor Elements catalogs, and would love to send you one–just call or e-mail me, and I’ll get one in the mail to you right away! Phase II goes on sale October 1st, and you can be one of the first to order some of the beautiful new vinyl.
And don’t forget about Spooky Spider! Read about her in an earlier post. She goes on my front door next!

Aloha, all! I am just so excited that my favorite decorating time of the year is just around the corner!! And those of you who know me well, know I’m talking about Halloween. I am so into fall colors, and Halloween is my first chance to show them off around the house. Thanksgiving is a close second, so much of my Halloween decor stays around through November.
Speaking of "decor." There is a brand new member of the Stampin’ Up! Decor Elements family and she is ready for you to buy her and start being spooky. Let me introduce you to Spooky Spider!!
While most of the next phase of Decor Elements won’t be available until next month, Spooky Spider–in three scary sizes!–is here now.
If you would like to view the whole brochure, just click here.
As a quick summary, Spooky comes in 3 sizes and in both black and white. The lengths are 4-5/8", almost 9" and almost 15". Each has an extra length of web. The photo below shows how the extra web might be used.

Because Stampin’ Up! unexpectedly released this for early sale, you cannot order this through my own website. But I’ll be glad to order one for you RIGHT AWAY, if you call or e-mail and let me know if you’d like one! The prices are:
Small: $5.95
Medium: $10.95
Large: $14.95
And if you’d like to see Spooky in person, just come to my Open House on September 27th, where I’ll have her on display! Call or e-mail to let me know you’d like to come!!
(On a side note, the smaller Spooky on the tag on the jar is part of the "Chills and Thrills" rub on on page 179 of the Stampin’ Up! 2008 Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog. Don’t have a catalog yet? Even a better reason to come to my Open House on the 27th. You’ll get one for free just for attending!)

A short while ago, I mentioned that I was going to hold a class for our local Family and Community Education Council in Hilo, Hawaii. This was part of the Council’s annual R&R weekend at Volcano National Park. .jpg)
What fun we all had! All of the cards were great! They ranged from those that tried to meticulously reproduce the sample cards to, well VERY creative!! And the most creative one was my absolute favorite.
Imagine, if you will, nine novice paper crafters with scissors and paper cutters and punches and stamps–mistakes were bound to be made! Well, actually, I really tried to convince all that there are no mistakes–there are just "design modifications"! But whether they were mistakes or design modifications, there were trimmings and scraps all over the place.
Enter the lady with absolutely no desire to be a copycat! Suddenly she had a card with so many scallops and ribbons that everyone was just fascinated with what she made! What fun–and how creative!! And that is, after all, what R&R weekends are made of.
Don’t forget that, any time you want me to recreate this atmosphere for you, I am here to do it! Get some friends together and have me over to demonstrate some cards or scrapbook pages. I’m available for pretty much any schedule (but not 24/7–that would be our ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM–Have you tried it out yet?). And I am able to design a program for just about any theme in which you might be interested. So call or e-mail me today!

The 2008 Fall/Winter Stampin’ Up! Catalog once again features one of my favorite Halloween stamp sets–Haunting Halloween.
Being a life-long "cat person," I just LOVE the Cat Witch!!!
It was especially fun recreating this pop-up card from one I made last year because this year there is some new Halloween Designer Series Paper–Ghostly Greetings–with which to play in making this card.
Many of you have already asked me for instructions for the card, a copy of which I posted on Split Coast Stampers. So here they are!
If you’d like to make this cute card to send to your special ghosts and goblins this year, I am featuring a special this month only just for you! Purchase the Haunting Halloween stamp set, and I’ll include the papers and embellishments to make 4 cards ABSOLUTELY FREE!
Call or e-mail me NOW to place your order!
Watch here for more cards and crafts made with this fun set.
Happy Haunting!!
